Keynote Symptoms

Insecurity of rectum — fear of passing stool when passing flatus. Involuntary stool when passing gas, urinating, even on standing. Hemorrhoids like a bunch of grapes — protruding, bleeding, sore, tender. Constant bearing-down in rectum. Rumbling and gurgling in abdomen before stool. Jelly-like mucous stool.

Mind & Emotional Symptoms

Dissatisfied, angry, hateful especially when constipated. Better when stool is good. Life is a burden. Disinclination to mental labor.

General Symptoms

Venous congestion, especially portal. Worse early morning (5-6 AM), hot weather, after eating and drinking, standing, summer. Better from cold applications, cold weather, passing flatus.

Physical Symptoms

Head

Headache across forehead with heaviness in eyes. Alternates with abdominal symptoms or lumbago.

Stomach

Aversion to meat. Heaviness, fullness after eating. Nausea with headache.

Abdomen

Fullness, heaviness, bloating. Rumbling, gurgling, especially before stool. Sensation as if a plug were wedged between symphysis and os coccygis. Pulsation around navel. Colic before and during stool.

Rectum

Insecurity — constant feeling stool will escape. Involuntary stool when passing flatus, urinating, walking, standing. Hemorrhoids — protruding like a bunch of grapes, sore, tender, better from cold application. Mucous stool — jelly-like lumps. Morning diarrhea driving out of bed (like Sulphur).

Female Genitalia

Bearing-down in uterus and rectum. Heavy dragging in pelvis. Menses too early, profuse.

Lumbago alternating with headache or diarrhea. Sacral pain.

Aloe is a powerful purgative. Large doses of aloe latex cause severe griping, diarrhea, kidney irritation. Chronic use can cause melanosis coli. Safe in potentised forms.
