Combines action of Baryta (enlarged glands, mental dullness, arteriosclerosis) and Iodum (glandular enlargement with emaciation, heat intolerance). Hard, indurated glands — tonsils, lymph nodes. Arteriosclerosis with high blood pressure. Ovarian tumors. Breast tumors.

Comparative Materia Medica
Baryta carbonica has glandular enlargement and dullness but without the iodine heat and emaciation. Iodum has glandular enlargement with emaciation but without the dullness. Calcarea iodata is similar but with more calcium features.
Safety Information
Not well established.
Barium compounds are toxic — barium causes muscle stimulation, cardiac arrhythmias, GI symptoms. Iodide adds thyroid effects. Use only potentised forms.
