Profuse acrid lachrymation burning the cheeks, with bland nasal discharge. Eyes inflamed, red, swollen with constant watering. Catarrhal conditions primarily affecting the eyes. Thick acrid discharge from eyes. Bland fluent coryza. Photophobia. Frequent blinking.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Indolent, aversion to conversation. Hypochondriacal. Drowsy.
General Symptoms
Catarrhal affections centering on eyes. Worse from sunlight, wind, warmth, indoors, evening, touch. Better from open air, winking, wiping eyes, in the dark, coffee.

Eyes
Profuse acrid lachrymation — tears burn and excoriate the cheeks. Thick yellowish discharge. Eyes red, swollen. Pressure as from sand. Frequent blinking. Photophobia. Margins of lids red, swollen, burning.
Nose
Profuse bland nasal discharge. Fluent coryza with sneezing.
Head
Bursting, dazzling headache with profuse lachrymation.
Face
Hot and red. Stiffness of upper lip.
Throat
Hawking of mucus. Condylomata of larynx.
Respiratory
Cough only in the daytime. Loose cough with profuse expectoration. Dyspnoea, better lying down.
Chest
Oppression and pressure. Short of breath.
Skin
First stage of measles with profuse eye symptoms.
Fever / Chill / Perspiration
Chilly. Sweat confined to upper body.

Comparative Materia Medica
Allium cepa is the exact opposite: acrid nasal discharge with bland lachrymation. Pulsatilla has bland thick eye discharge but is weepy and changeable. Argentum nitricum has eye inflammation but with more anxiety.
