Heart is the primary seat of action — angina, valvular disease, palpitation with choking. Left-sided — pain from left temple through heart to left shoulder. Suicidal depression with sense of duty. Brooding on imagined wrongs. Asthmatic symptoms with cardiac involvement. Worse from cold air, lying on left side, after sleep, alcohol.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Suicidal depression — brooding, dwelling on real or imagined wrongs. Strong sense of duty that overwhelms. Feels neglected. Dread of being alone. Fear of rain. Melancholy. Depressed after menses. Makes mistakes in writing and speaking.
General Symptoms
Left-sided remedy, especially heart. Worse from cold, lying on left side, after sleep, alcohol, stimulants, walking. Better from right side, lying on right side, walking in open air.
Physical Symptoms
Head
Aching in left temple. Headache extending from left eye through brain to occiput. Throbbing headache with heart symptoms.
Throat
Grasping at throat — choking sensation. Cannot bear collar. Throat feels constricted.
Chest
Violent palpitation, visible and audible. Angina pectoris — pain radiates to nape, left shoulder, left arm. Valvular lesions. Feeling of weight on heart. Cardiac asthma. Threatened paralysis of heart. Pulse irregular, intermittent.
Respiratory
Dry, hacking cough from cardiac irritation. Asthma with cardiac involvement. Suffocative attacks.
Female Genitalia
Ovarian pain, left side. Menses irregular. Depression after menses.

Numbness of left arm and hand. Dragging pain from heart to left shoulder.

Lachesis also has left-sided symptoms worse after sleep but with more jealousy and loquacity. Spigelia has violent palpitation but more neuralgic. Cactus has constricting heart pain (band-like). Aurum has suicidal depression from grief.
Safety Information
Alcohol is said to intensify effects. Not well established.
Cobra venom is neurotoxic, causing respiratory paralysis and cardiac failure. Fatal without antivenom. Use only potentised forms.
