Keynote Symptoms
Violent, spasmodic, paroxysmal sneezing — the keynote. Profuse watery coryza with frontal headache. Itching and tickling inside the nose. Hay fever. Lachrymation with sneezing. Chilly, sensitive to cold air. Imaginary diseases — thinks they are very sick. Red eyelids. Worm symptoms.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Imaginary diseases — thinks parts are shrunken, that they have some terrible illness. Erroneous impressions about the body. Nervous, timid. Easily startled by noise. Mental exertion difficult.
General Symptoms
Extremely chilly — sensitive to cold air. Left-sided or left-to-right. Worse from cold, open air, full moon, periodically. Better from warmth, warm food and drinks, wrapping up.
Physical Symptoms
Head
Frontal headache with coryza. Vertigo. Pressing pain from forehead.
Eyes
Red, burning eyelids. Lachrymation with sneezing. Itching.
Nose
Violent, spasmodic sneezing — the chief symptom. Copious watery discharge. Itching, tickling, tingling inside nose. Stuffiness alternating with fluent coryza. Hay fever. Epistaxis.
Throat
Sore throat beginning left, going to right. Sensation of a lump that must be constantly swallowed. Worse from empty swallowing, better from warm food and drinks.
Stomach
No thirst. Loathing of food. Desire for hot things. Nausea.
Abdomen
Worms — crawling, itching in rectum. Cutting colic.
Skin
Dry, itching. Sensation of insects crawling.
Fever / Chill / Perspiration
Chilly. Thirstless during fever. Chill predominates.

Comparative Materia Medica
Allium cepa also has profuse coryza but with acrid nasal discharge and bland tears; Sabadilla has bland nasal discharge and more sneezing. Natrum muriaticum has sneezing and coryza but worse from sun and consolation. Arsenicum album has burning nasal discharge but more restless and thirsty.
