Keynote Symptoms
Violent cough with involuntary spurting of urine — the hallmark. Sneezing accompanies the cough. Copious, slimy, acrid nasal discharge. Profuse mucus in bronchi. Pleurisy with stitching pains. Cardiac dropsy — edema with scanty dark urine. Acts on heart and kidneys as a diuretic.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Anxious. Fear of death. Irritable from constant coughing.
General Symptoms
Respiratory and cardiac-renal. Worse from morning, exertion, cold drinks, undressing, composing oneself to sleep. Better from sitting up, expectoration.

Nose
Copious, acrid, watery nasal discharge. Violent sneezing. Coryza with acrid fluent discharge.

Comparative Materia Medica
Causticum also has involuntary urine with cough but more from weakness. Natrum muriaticum has involuntary urine with cough or sneezing. Pulsatilla has involuntary urine with cough but in mild, weepy patients.
Safety Information
Camphora, Digitalis.
Sea squill contains cardiac glycosides (scillaren) similar to digitalis. Highly toxic in large crude doses — nausea, vomiting, cardiac arrhythmia, death. Historically used as a rat poison. Use ONLY potentised forms.
