Keynote Symptoms
Intense, violent congestion, especially to the head. Furious delirium with congestion. Tongue with a red streak down the center — a strong keynote. Full, slow, heavy pulse (opposite of most febrile states). Convulsions — puerperal eclampsia, infantile convulsions. Nausea and vomiting accompany most symptoms. Sunstroke.
Mind & Emotional Symptoms
Furious delirium with congestion. Screaming, striking, biting. Quarrelsome. Loquacious. Cannot be left alone. Puerperal mania.
General Symptoms
Violent congestion. Full, slow pulse despite fever. Worse from rising, motion, warm room. Better from lying down, cold applications.
Physical Symptoms
Head
Intense congestion — head feels as if it will burst. Sunstroke. Hot, heavy, throbbing. Dim vision with dilated pupils. Convulsions.
Face
Red, flushed, bloated. Livid. Twitching facial muscles.
Mouth
Tongue with red streak down the center — the keynote particular. White or yellow coated tongue with red central line. Scalded feeling.
Stomach
Persistent nausea and vomiting. Hiccough. Cannot sit up without vomiting.
Chest
Pneumonia with intense congestion, slow pulse. Pulse full, slow, soft, easily compressed. Heart action slow and heavy.
Female Genitalia
Puerperal eclampsia — convulsions with congestion. Puerperal mania. Rigid os with convulsions. Suppressed menses with cerebral congestion.
Extremities
Twitching. Convulsions. Trembling.
Fever / Chill / Perspiration
High fever but with slow pulse — the paradox. Intense body heat. Cold sweat on forehead.

Comparative Materia Medica
Belladonna has intense congestion but with fast, bounding pulse; Veratrum viride has slow, heavy pulse. Glonoinum has sunstroke but with throbbing and bursting sensation. Opium has slow pulse but with stupor not delirium.
Safety Information
Atropine (physiological antidote), Coffea, Digitalis.
Contains jervine and other veratrum alkaloids — extremely toxic. Causes violent vomiting, bradycardia, hypotension, convulsions, respiratory failure, death. More toxic than Veratrum album. Use only potentised forms.
