Overview

Food sensitivities differ from allergies — slower onset, varied symptoms, non-IgE mediated. Often related to gut health. Elimination diet and gut support are foundational.

Common Symptoms

Bloating, gas, diarrhea or constipation, headaches, fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, skin issues, mood changes — often hours after eating trigger food.

When to Seek Medical Care

Severe reactions (allergies), unintended weight loss, persistent GI symptoms — rule out celiac, IBD, other conditions.

General Self-Care Basics

Food journal, elimination diet (remove suspected triggers for 3-4 weeks, reintroduce), gut health support, stress management, diverse whole foods diet.
